Your Username (or @ handle) is a name you select while creating your profile. Since there can only be one user associated with a particular Username, this feature makes it easier for people to identify you on The Pattern. This can be your real name, a chosen pseudonym, or nickname. Usernames with profane or offensive words may be subject to deletion or revision at the discretion of The Pattern without advance notice to the user.
You can edit your Username at any time. To do so:
1. From the Home tab, tap on your username or the Settings icon, located in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Tap 'Edit Profile'.
3. In the 'Username' field, you may edit your username to any available handle. The requirements for a valid username are that it must consist of at least three characters (including letters, numbers, and the following “-”, “_”, and “.”). At this time, usernames cannot contain emojis or any other special characters including accent or punctuation marks over letters.
